Harnden Construction Services, LLC in the Ft. Meade, MD area (also serving Chambersburg, PA) seeks an experienced Project Superintendent to lead earthwork and underground utility projects.

You will supervise site crews, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure safety and schedule adherence. Candidates should demonstrate prior supervisory experience, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to manage budgets and client communications.

Formación

• OSHA or safety certifications preferred.
• Experience operating heavy equipment (excavators, bulldozers) and GPS use.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to coordinate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Overview

Harnden Construction Services LLC,has an immediate employment opportunity available for a Project Superintendent in the Ft. Meade, MD and Chambersburg, PA areas. We are seeking an experienced Project Superintendent. Applicant needs to be able to demonstrate prior supervision experience with earthwork and underground utility projects, with appropriate competent person certifications.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs all work according to OSHA and Harnden Safety policies
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Directs and coordinatesactivities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule, within prescribed budget, and provides advice to solve problems
• Prepares project specific safety-related and work planning documentation as required.
• Documents and submits daily project working conditions, working hours and productions for work activities.
• Coordinates project’s needs for manpower and equipment with General Superintendent.
• Order and schedule project materials for delivery to project site.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution OR 3 years of related experience and/or training
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered
• Valid driver’s license
• Clean Driving record
• Experience operating heavy equipment, especially excavators, bulldozers, GPS experience preferred
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Problem solving and priority setting skills
• Composure and conflict resolution skills
• Basic internet and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) skills
• Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
• Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience

• Supervisory experience
• OSHA or other relevant safety certificates
• Experience in heavy civil construction

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, and stoop
• Frequently sit, climb
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
• Specific vision requirements include distance, peripheral, and depth perception

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions and extreme heat
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration

• Noise level is usually loud
