Job summary

The Korte Company—based in St. Louis, MO—seeks an experienced Construction Project Superintendent to oversee nationwide projects, ensuring safety, quality, schedule and budget adherence.

This role offers the opportunity to join a strong, respected team and contribute to large-scale construction efforts. You will partner with the Project Manager to budget, manage and forecast labor, equipment and materials, supervise subcontractors, maintain reports, and uphold OSHA compliance across projects.

Qualifications

  • Field construction knowledge across systems, practices, and sequencing.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to client satisfaction.
  • Good analytical, problem solving, organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient with Procore, emails and daily reports.
  • OSHA 30 certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Project Manager to budget, manage and forecast subcontractor labor, equipment, materials and general conditions.
  • Read and interpret specifications and plans to determine requirements and planning procedures.
  • Supervise, order and coordinate activities of labor, subcontractors and deliveries.
  • Maintain quality control through regular inspections of work-in-progress.
  • Complete all reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure adherence to safety policies and OSHA compliance.
  • Analyse subcontractor and production problems and coordinate resolutions.
  • Participate in safety and progress meetings and travel as required.

Job description

The Korte Company is seeking an experienced Construction Project Superintendent for nationwide construction projects to maintain safety, quality, schedule and budget for the project. This position is a great opportunity for an individual to join a strong, successful and highly-respected team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Partner with Project Manager to budget, manage and forecast subcontractor labor, equipment, materials, small tools, consumables and general conditions
  • Read and interpret specifications and plans to determine requirements and planning procedures
  • Supervise, order and coordinate activities of labor, subcontractors and deliveries
  • Maintain quality control by frequent and regular inspection of work-in-progress
  • Complete all reports and records in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ensure adherence to company safety and insurance policies, protocols and OSHA compliance
  • Analyze subcontractor and production problems
  • Conduct and participate in safety and subcontractor progress meetings
  • Travel/relocation will be required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge of field construction including systems, practices, general engineering principals and construction techniques, materials, methods and sequencing

  • Computer knowledge in sending emails, daily reports, construction look-ahead schedules, iPad and Procore use
  • 30 hour OSHA certification training is required
EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE
  • 7+ years of construction Superintendent experience with projects valued at $40M+
  • 10 years of experience in the construction trades or a combination of equivalent training and experience
  • DoD project experience for USACE or NAVFAC a plus
  • Design/Build experience is a plus

The Superintendent will be at the worksite at all times whenever work or testing is being performed. The worksite environment is constantly changing and may include:

  • Moving mechanical parts
  • High, precarious places
  • Risk of electrical shock
  • Outside weather conditions, such as extreme heat and extreme cold
  • Moderate to loud noise levels
