Job summary

The Romanoff Group is seeking a Project Superintendent to oversee day-to-day activities on a single multi-family residential project. You will coordinate with internal and external partners and ensure safety, quality, and timely progress.

This full-time role requires extensive supervision of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing installations, reading plans, managing crews, and maintaining documentation. On-site leadership and reliable transportation are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing.
  • Minimum 8 years of installation experience in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing.
  • Thorough understanding of installation practices, industry standards, and codes.
  • Experience with residential and commercial new construction processes, inspections, and QC.
  • Ability to supervise, coordinate, train, mentor, and develop field personnel.
  • Ability to manage multiple people and projects with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings (HVAC/Electrical/Plumbing).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Read plans and specs to determine scope, materials, equipment, and installation requirements.
  • Supervise installation crews, field personnel, and subcontractors.
  • Serve as on-site safety lead, production, and client contact.
  • Identify tools, materials, and equipment for safe, efficient work.
  • Coordinate with general contractors, project managers, inspectors, and trades.
  • Maintain schedules, progress reports, and compliance documents.
  • Inspect work for quality and code compliance; address deficiencies promptly.
  • Walk job sites daily to monitor progress and safety; manage safety violations.
  • Manage jobsite materials, takeoffs, ordering, receiving, inventory, and storage.
  • Provide on-site leadership, coaching, and development for teams.
  • Maintain professionalism with employees, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure reliable transportation for site visits and material transport.

Position Summary

The Project Superintendent will oversee the day-to-day activities of a single project, coordinate with internal and external partners, and ensure the quality, production, and safety of the multi-family residential project.

Position Responsibilities
  • Read plans, specifications, and construction documents to determine the scope of work, material requirements, equipment locations, and installation requirements.
  • Supervise and provide directions to installation crews, field employees, punch mechanics, and subcontractors.
  • Serves as the competent person on site for safety, production, leadership, and the client’s point of contact.
  • Identify required tools, materials, and equipment necessary for crews to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Identify and mitigate safety risks in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete all required operational, production, and safety documentation, including JHAs, inspections, progress reports, and as-built drawings.
  • Collaborate with general contractors, project managers, inspectors, and other trade partners to ensure project schedules, specifications, and code requirements are met.
  • Coordinate and prioritize work activities to support production schedules, inspections, and project deadlines.
  • Inspect work for quality, completeness, code compliance, and timeliness, and make recommendations for corrective action as needed.
  • Walk job sites daily to monitor progress, address deficiencies, and ensure work is progressing according to schedule.
  • Address safety violations, quality concerns, and other jobsite deficiencies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites, including proper material storage and debris removal.
  • Provide on-site direction and leadership to field personnel and subcontractors.
  • Manage jobsite materials, including takeoffs, ordering, receiving, inventory control, storage, and distribution.
  • Be dependable, accountable, and consistent in all aspects of job performance and project supervision.
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions with employees, customers, contractors, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
  • Able to self-direct individual and team efforts to align with project priorities and deadlines.
  • Willing and able to follow all instructed safety regulations and company policies.
  • Able to arrive at work on time, work the designated schedule, and be available as project conditions require.
  • Maintain reliable transportation capable of traveling to jobsites and transporting tools and materials as needed.
  • Provide learning and development opportunities through coaching, performance management, and mentoring.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Electrical Specific Responsibilities
  • Supervise and inspect the installation of electrical equipment, systems, and components to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes.
  • Supervise the proper installation of electrical gear, wiring, and related components.
  • Test electrical systems and components for continuity, voltage, and proper operation according to specifications and code requirements.
  • Oversee the setup and maintenance of temporary power systems for construction projects.
  • Ensure grounding systems for equipment and structures are installed properly and in compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Monitor cable pulling methods and installation techniques to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications.
  • Ensure field personnel and subcontractors properly utilize specialized electrical tools and equipment including multi-meters, knockout kits, tuggers, terminating devices, and electrical hand tools.
  • Oversee troubleshooting efforts for electrical systems and equipment and coordinate resolution of electrical malfunctions and deficiencies.
  • Maintain knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable state and local amendments as they apply to residential construction projects.
Qualifications

  • Required: Ability to effectively supervise, coordinate, train, mentor, and develop field personnel, installation crews, subcontractors, and punch mechanics.
  • Required: Ability to identify problems quickly and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Required: Ability to oversee and coordinate multiple people, projects, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Required: Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Required: Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and project quality standards.
  • HVAC Required: Ability to read, understand, and interpret plans, specifications, shop drawings, duct layouts, equipment installation instructions, and related construction documents.
  • Electrical Required: Strong understanding of the electrical construction industry, including troubleshooting and identifying faults in electrical systems.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.
  • Must be able to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
