Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Project Superintendent to supervise technicians and subcontractors for the installation of audio, visual, and lighting systems. The role requires travel nationwide and may include overtime to meet project deadlines within scope and budget.

You will read blueprints, coordinate with the Project Manager, ensure safety compliance, and troubleshoot issues as they arise, while leading a team on site across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and two years of installation experience.
• Experience in commercial installation of audio, video and lighting systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the work of technicians to ensure proper scope of work.
• Coordinate with the project manager to ensure project design and deadlines are met.
• Read and decipher blueprints and schematics.
• Use basic hand and power tools properly and safely.
• Ensure technicians adhere to all safety rules, procedures, and PPE.
• Evaluate, troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise.
• Process information, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Pull wire and cable, solder and terminate wires and cables.
• Work cooperatively within the team.
• Report on-site risks to Project Manager for timely resolution.
• Maintain valid driver’s license and pass background/drug tests for clearance.
• Must travel to job sites throughout the country.
• Perform work from elevated heights and lift heavy equipment.

The Project Superintendent will supervise and direct the work of a team of technicians and/or subcontractors during the installation of contracted audio, visual, and lighting systems. It is the job of the Project Superintendent to ensure that established project design, scope, and deadlines are met while working under the direction of the Project Manager. Travel is required and occasional overtime maybe needed.

Essential Job Duties:

• Supervise and direct the work of technicians to ensure proper scope of work
• Coordinate with the project manager to ensure project design and deadlines are met
• Read and decipher blueprints and schematics
• Use basic hand and power tools properly and safely
• Ensure technicians adhere to all safety rules, procedures, and use of proper PPE gear
• Evaluate, troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise
• Quickly process information, prioritize job tasks and meet deadlines
• Pull wire and cable, solder and terminate wires and cables
• Work cooperatively and effectively within the team
• Report on-site risks and any other issues that need immediate attention to the Project Manager to ensure efficient, timely resolution in compliance with project time-line and budget parameters
• Maintain a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and the ability to pass background checks and drug tests for project security clearance
• Must be able to travel to job sites throughout the country
• Perform work from elevated heights and lift heavy equipment

Pay ranges from $25-35 based on years of experience

Skills and Requirements

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to work effectively as a team lead, direct and supervise the work of others
• The ability to pass a DOT physical to obtain a commercial driver’s medical certificate
• The ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the installation of A/V/L systems
• Considerable knowledge of low voltage electronics and basic construction skills
• The ability to travel
• The ability to lift 50 pounds

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalence; and two years of experience in commercial installation of audio, video and lighting integrated systems; or any combination of training and experience which enables the candidate to successfully perform the essential duties of this position.

Physical demands and work environment:

Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, use hands and fingers, reach and push with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit, climb and balance. Work requires ability to perform job duties on scaffolding, ladders and at various heights as well as extensive overhead motion required to install equipment. Work requires ability to lift fifty pounds on a daily basis and be exposed to warm and cold environments.
