Job summary

Caterpillar Solar Turbines in Channelview, TX is seeking a Project Structural Fitter B for the 2nd shift. You will work with the structural fabrication team to frame weldments from engineering drawings and ensure safe, defect-free operations.

The role requires basic computer skills, the ability to climb and work from heights, and flexibility to support overtime and other shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of experience in a production environment.
• Ability to perform simple computer operations.
• Willingness to work 1st and 2nd shifts and overtime.
• Must be able to climb ladders and work from scaffolds.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual fit of structural subcomponents to match engineering drawings.
• Follow procedures to ensure safe and defect-free operations.
• Carry out carbon arc cutting and gouging as required.
• Sand welds as needed to prepare and dress welds.
• Use measuring tools (tape measure, transit) to locate pieces.
• Move and position work pieces with forklifts, pallet jacks or cranes.
