Job summary

Solar Turbines in Channelview, Texas is seeking an Assembly Technician to join a dynamic team. You will read engineering drawings and install mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment to meet product requirements.

This role requires 1+ year in a production setting, the ability to work 1st and 2nd shifts, and overtime as needed. A technical vocational program completing at least 9 months is preferred; forklift operation may be necessary.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Read engineering drawings, work instructions, schematics and other technical documents.
• Assemble and install mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment per drawings.
• Assemble and install piping systems; align, level, square and bolt-up as required.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and overhead cranes to move and position pieces.
• Follow safe procedures and standard work to ensure defect-free operations.

Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.**Job Description:**As an Assembly Technician, you will work in a dynamic team environment alongside other assembly team members to install and test, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment utilizing engineering drawings to meet the product requirements.**Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:*** Reading and understanding of engineering drawings, work instructions, schematics, and other technical documents.* Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation installation requirements and techniques* Knowledge to set and align structural assemblies, gas fuels filters, vessels, and install bolted piping systems.* Knowledge to install cable support systems (tray, conduit, clips, unistrut), cable forming during cable installation, glanding and termination of electrical cables, installation of instruments and devices, how to route, cut and form tubing as well as assist in electrical testing of systems.* Knowledge of instrumentation tubing takeoff, bending, and installation* Follow documented procedures and standard work to perform safe and defect free operations* Assembly and installation piping systems.
