Description:
- Act as the Supply Chain contact/interface point for proposal/project managers, Engineering, and Scheduling, coordinating activities with the Supply Management commodity organizations.
- Assist Supply Management in developing procurement plans and strategies for all purchased items, collaborating with Category Managers, commodity buyers, proposal/project managers, and Global Sourcing Offices.
- Create Proposal Status documents to track and report activities.
- Review and evaluate Customer specifications and documents for potential impacts on the business, adjusting strategies accordingly. This includes considering customer requirements, potential costs or risks, and applicability of commercial flow-down considerations.
- Provide feedback and interface with proposal/project managers to understand proposal strategies and supplier impacts.
- Develop proposal RFQ packages for selected equipment/materials during the proposal stage, coordinating supplier meetings and communications as needed.
- Coordinate with Supply Management to include relevant information in the company's proposal, including deviations from customer documents and potential savings.
- Ensure all documents substantiate pricing and schedules.
- Post-contract award, lead a kick-off meeting with commodity organizations to discuss sourcing plans, terms, schedules, and commitments.
- Coordinate with Legal and Project Managers to develop applicable flow-down terms based on negotiated commercial terms.
- Communicate deviations from standard terms and conditions and support supplier negotiations as required.
- Support claim resolution activities, gather documentation, develop recovery strategies, and lead negotiations to maximize supplier recovery.
- Report to executive leadership on project performance and Supply Management contributions.
- Manage strategic contracts effectively.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business.
- 5+ years of experience in a medium to large organization, with experience in complex commodities or project management preferred.
- Experience in roles such as Buyer, Scheduler, Operations, Engineering, or Accounting.
- Process improvement training and experience.
- Leadership experience.
