Braun Intertec is looking for a Project Consultant to lead and manage various environmental projects, including due diligence, remedial investigation, and response action implementation. This role will include budgeting, communication with clients, project set up and management, and directing field staff to complete all aspects of projects including final reporting. This role will include mentoring junior staff and coordinating with various internal and external resources to complete the project work.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting and managing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA)
  • Conducting and managing Phase II ESAs and related soil, vapor and groundwater contaminant investigations
  • Coordinating and managing active remediation sites and related services
  • Performing detailed cost estimates for environmental investigation and remediation projects
  • Preparing response action plans to facilitate remediation and redevelopment
  • Coordinating and directing field personnel and contractor personnel
  • Assisting in training new staff in field procedures
  • Preparing scopes of work, work breakdown structures, and cost proposals
  • Managing projects including direct client communications
  • Data evaluation and report preparation
  • On-Site coordination with clients and regulators

Required Skills:

  • Ability to read and independently analyze and interpret technical reports, technical guidance documents, and governmental regulations pertaining to environmental contamination
  • Strong technical writings skills including written reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information verbally and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public
  • Ability to independently solve practical problems and manage daily project variables
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage and procure client relationships

Required Experience:

  • B.S. degree or higher in Geology, Earth or Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry, or applicable science-related field
  • 5+ years related experience in environmental assessment, investigations, and remediation
  • OSHA 40 hour Hazwoper
  • Experience with regulatory programs & regulations:
    • Resource Conservation & Recovery Act (RCRA)
    • Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Regulations
    • Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP)
    • Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP)
    • Industrial and Hazardous Waste (IHW) Program
    • Corrective Action
    • Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC)
Additional Preferred Experience:

  • Geologist-in-Training (GIT) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
  • Spill response, remediation oversight, and associated reporting
  • Industrial compliance

Compensation Range:

$63,900.00 - $95,900.00
