Job Description

Loureiro Engineering Associates is seeking a Project Scientist to join our Environmental team in Connecticut.

Our goal is to employ the right individuals to be part of our team, learning and working with experienced professionals who will provide formal training and mentoring to support professional growth and opportunities at Loureiro.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing proposal estimates of time and expenses required to complete projects.
• Participate in presenting proposals to clients.
• Contribute to major project design decisions alongside the Project Manager.
• Assign duties to the Project Team, answer questions, and monitor progress.
• Provide technical expertise for assigned projects.
• Maintain client contact during project development, if delegated.
• Serve as Project Manager on certain projects, if applicable.
• Perform other related work as assigned, ensuring safety and adherence to firm policies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, or science.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering design within the relevant area.
• Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education (Masters or Doctorate) and experience.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to learn quickly, multi-task, and prioritize.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting, walking, hiking, and standing.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Hand mobility for setting up equipment, handling samples, and operating tools.
• Work in various weather conditions and terrains.
• Adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment properly.
