Job summary

JAB Recruitment is seeking a Project Scheduler / Planning Engineer for a Houston-based EPC project team on a 12-month contract. The role requires 5-8+ years of Primavera P6 and MS Projects scheduling experience on large petrochemical/LNG projects, with a USD milestone of around $1 billion.

Travel and US work authorization are required. The successful candidate will coordinate with engineering disciplines and contractors, mentor others, and deliver timely project controls and schedule updates in

A JAB Recruitment client is seeking a Project Scheduler / Planning Engineer to add to their Houston based team and support major EPC project scheduling:

PLEASE NOTE:

• This is a contract position - estimated12 months contract before possible conversion; conversion to a permanent team member is the goal, dependent on personal performance, market drivers, business need and is not guaranteed.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the US indefinitely without present or future need for visa sponsorship. No sponsorship available.

Experience/Specific Knowledge:

• 5-8+ years of Primavera P6 and MS Projects scheduling experience. Both Midstream and Downstream experience preferred.
• Experience with large projects, e.g. petrochemical and/or LNG.
• Must have extensive experience in Major Projects with a growth portfolio of USD 1 Billion.
• Knowledge and application of company business standards and good practices.
• Possesses a comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines.
• Understanding of existing and potential customer deliverable expectations and preferences.
• Ability to set priorities and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to effectively discuss and correspond with engineering disciplines and/or contractors to ascertain and understand pertinent information concerning schedules, scopes of work, estimates and/or project costs.
• Coaching and mentoring skills and experience.
• Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Knowledge of other disciplines deliverable development to ensure coordination of efforts.
• Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of all project controls deliverables.
• Experienced in scheduling professional service hours and assessing the progress and quality of project controls work. Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks.
• Proficient in the use of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills necessary to work with superiors, peers and subordinates including supervision of independent land contractors.
• Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job.
• Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, and follow company policies.
• Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines and prioritize work.
• Ability to work as a key member of an integrated project team and to transparently manage all aspects of property related concerns to minimize impacts to a project’s budget, schedule and the overall operability of assets.
