Job description

Location: Edina, MN or Duluth, MN (Hybrid)

Duration: 12+ months contract

Position Overview

Our Project Controls team is seeking a Project Scheduler to support a recently approved $600M Valley Crossing Pipeline Expansion Project in Texas. The Project Scheduler will work closely with the Project Manager, Cost Controller, contractors, and key project stakeholders to develop and maintain an integrated master schedule throughout project execution.

This role is ideal for a scheduler with strong Primavera P6 experience and a background supporting linear, pipeline, midstream, energy, or other large-scale capital projects.

The team is open to candidates with varying levels of experience due to the location, with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant project scheduling experience. Compensation will be based on the candidate's level of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and manage the integrated master project schedule using Primavera P6.
• Work with project stakeholders and functional teams to develop project schedules, sequencing, milestones, and the critical path.
• Integrate contractor/vendor schedules into the overall project master schedule.
• Establish and communicate scheduling standards and guidelines for contractors based on project requirements.
• Monitor schedule performance and provide regular reporting on progress, delays, slippage, and critical activities.
• Identify schedule risks, impacts, and opportunities and develop recovery and optimization plans.
• Perform schedule analysis and support earned value, resource, and budget-related activities.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into schedule and project performance.
• Partner closely with the Project Manager and Cost Controller to monitor overall project cost and schedule performance.
• Participate in contractor kickoff meetings, design reviews, project meetings, and other stakeholder meetings as needed.
• Support integration of contractor scopes and schedules with the overall project master schedule.
• Travel periodically for project/site visits and meetings as required.

Required Qualifications

• 2-3+ years of relevant project scheduling/project controls experience; more experienced candidates are welcome.
• Strong hands-on experience with Primavera P6 and the ability to build and maintain complex project schedules.
• Experience developing and managing integrated master schedules.
• Experience with critical path analysis, schedule reporting, schedule variance analysis, and recovery planning.
• Experience integrating contractor/vendor schedules into an overall project schedule.
• Experience supporting linear projects, such as pipelines, transmission, utilities, transportation, or other similar infrastructure projects.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with project managers, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment with onsite work in Edina or Duluth, MN.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with pipeline, midstream, oil & gas, energy, or utility projects.
• Experience supporting large-scale capital projects.
• Knowledge of earned value management, resource loading, and budget/schedule variance analysis.
• Experience working directly with EPC contractors or engineering/construction firms.
• Experience participating in contractor kickoff meetings, design reviews, and project execution meetings.
• Willingness to travel periodically for site visits and project meetings.

Project Controls Team

The Project Controls team currently consists of 8 professionals - 4 Cost Controllers and 4 Schedulers - with plans to grow to 10. The Project Scheduler will be paired closely with a Cost Controller and will work alongside the Project Manager and key stakeholders to manage the project from both a cost and schedule perspective.
