Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Scheduling Manager in Chicago to oversee major construction project schedules from planning through execution. You will develop, maintain, and monitor integrated master schedules while coordinating with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in CPM scheduling, project controls, and data visualization, with proficiency in Power BI, MS Project, and Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; master’s preferred.
• 7+ years in integrated scheduling, controls, PM, or analytical roles.
• Experience with CPM, schedule analysis, and project controls systems.
• Experience supporting large-scale capital programs in relevant sectors.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of project scheduling for major construction projects ranging from $25M to $50M.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules.
• Closely monitor progress against the schedule and update accordingly.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, subcontractors, and other personnel.
• Lead weekly project status meetings and prepare progress reports.
• Provide expert analysis on schedule performance and identify critical paths.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project/construction management, analytics, mathematics, or a related technical field required. Master’s degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in integrated program scheduling, project controls, project management, systems engineering, or a related analytical role.
• Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies, schedule analysis techniques, and project controls systems.
• Experience supporting large-scale capital, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, energy, or infrastructure programs.
• Demonstrated experience developing, maintaining, and analyzing integrated master schedules using Critical Path Method (CPM) principles preferred.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced analytical and technical capabilities, including experience with Power BI, Microsoft Project, and data visualization tools. Experience with Python preferred.
