Job description

Project Scheduler (Life Sciences & Healthcare)

Position Overview

Great projects do not stay on schedule by accident. They stay on schedule because someone can see challenges before they become problems and opportunities before they become competitive advantages. We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to join our Project Controls team supporting complex life sciences, pharmaceutical, laboratory, and healthcare construction projects. In this role, you will be more than a schedule manager. You will be a key contributor to project success, partnering with project leadership, engineering teams, field operations, subcontractors, and clients to develop strategic schedules that drive results. If you enjoy solving complex project challenges, collaborating with talented teams, and helping deliver facilities that support scientific innovation and patient care, we would love to connect with you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve baseline and detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, encompassing engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, validation, and turnover activities.
  • Build schedules that serve as decision-making tools by identifying critical milestones, sequencing strategies, constraints, and project opportunities.
  • Integrate, review, and validate subcontractor, consultant, and vendor schedules to ensure alignment with project objectives and critical path requirements.
  • Conduct schedule risk analysis, what-if scenario planning, and recovery scheduling to proactively identify and mitigate potential impacts.
  • Develop regular schedule reports, dashboards, and presentations that provide meaningful insights into project performance, risks, trends, and recovery options.
  • Partner closely with Project Controls, Construction Management, Engineering, Design, Procurement, and Commissioning teams to ensure schedule accuracy and accountability.
  • Analyze and communicate the schedule impacts of changes in scope, RFIs, design revisions, unforeseen site conditions, and change orders.
  • Support forecasting efforts and earned value management (EVM) initiatives by connecting schedule performance with resource planning and project costs.
  • Coordinate schedules related to permitting, inspections, compliance reviews, and regulatory approvals, including HCAI/OSHPD requirements where applicable.
  • Collaborate with BIM, OPC, VDC, and Design teams to leverage model-based planning and improve project sequencing and constructability.
  • Prepare and maintain schedule documentation to support delay analysis, claims management, extensions of time, and dispute resolution efforts.
  • Facilitate schedule review meetings with internal and external stakeholders and communicate project status in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Provide mentorship to junior schedulers and support the development of scheduling best practices across project teams.
  • Serve as Lead Scheduler on medium to large projects when required, providing guidance and scheduling leadership from preconstruction through project closeout.
Qualifications
  • Required: 5+ years of hands-on project scheduling experience within life sciences, pharmaceutical, healthcare, biotech, or other highly regulated construction environments.
  • Required: Proven experience in Project Controls with expertise in schedule development, maintenance, analysis, and reporting.
  • Required: Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 and demonstrated ability to build and manage complex, resource-loaded schedules.
  • Required: Experience supporting technically sophisticated projects such as laboratories, pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, cleanrooms, hospitals, healthcare campuses, or controlled-environment facilities.
  • Required: Strong understanding of critical path methodology (CPM), schedule logic, resource planning, and project controls principles.
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Required: Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to present schedule information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Required: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Nice to have: Experience serving as a Lead Scheduler, Senior Scheduler, or Project Controls Lead on large-scale capital projects.
  • Nice to have: Familiarity with HCAI, OSHPD, and healthcare-specific regulatory review and approval processes.
  • Nice to have: Experience with BIM-integrated scheduling, Microsoft Project, OPC environments, VDC workflows, and related planning technologies.
  • Nice to have: Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), cleanroom requirements, validation protocols, and commissioning processes.
  • Nice to have: Experience supporting laboratory, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, or mission-critical construction projects.
  • Nice to have: Professional certifications related to scheduling, project controls, planning, or project management.
Why Join Us?

This is more than a scheduling role. It is an opportunity to help deliver facilities that advance scientific discovery, improve healthcare outcomes, and support groundbreaking innovation. You will work alongside industry-leading professionals on projects that challenge you, develop your expertise, and make a meaningful impact on communities and industries around the world. If you are passionate about planning, problem-solving, and contributing to projects that truly matter.
