Job summary

WECTEC Staffing Services is seeking a Safety Specialist for a 12-month assignment in Easter, TX. You will collaborate with the Superintendent of Construction to identify project risks and with the Sr.

Safety Lead to implement safety philosophies and best practices, promoting safe work habits across teams. The role requires OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, and five years of health & safety experience or a safety degree, with energy industry background.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 hour certified or higher
• First Aid/CPR trained
• 5 years of health & safety experience or safety degree
• Experience using defined processes for managing safety risks
• Energy industry experience
• Safety certifications listed (OSHA Outreach, HAZWOPER, Asbestos Supervisor)

Responsibilities

• Identify project risks with the Superintendent of Construction
• Implement safety philosophies with Sr. Safety Lead
• Promote safe work practices across teams
• Evaluate safety plan effectiveness and suggest improvements
• Provide training to inspectors on safety plans
• Audit contractor safety plans on-site and document findings
• Investigate incidents to determine root causes and preventive actions
• Develop injury/near-miss logs and safety metrics
• Communicate safety goals to field staff and contractors
• Conduct safety inspections and review incident reports
• Prepare reports and participate in pre-job hazard analyses
• Lead project safety meetings and site orientations
