Job summary

MWH Constructors in Oregon seeks a qualified Project Safety Manager to support critical water, wastewater, and advanced water treatment plant projects for municipal and industrial clients. The position will be based out of the Gresham, Oregon area.

You will guide safety operations, administer compliance, conduct risk reviews, supervise safety staff, develop training, and implement exposure control plans to protect workers and the public.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety experience on sites with hazard recognition.
• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety/health or engineering/science.
• Understanding of construction methods and federal, state, health and safety standards.
• Ability to lead and provide H&S direction to management and field personnel.
• Prior experience managing direct reports in a construction environment.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to Operations in establishing and maintaining safety operations in compliance with laws, regs, and best practices.
• Administer, direct and manage compliance with the project to ensure safety goals are met.
• Provide a strategic vision for creating safe work areas for affected employees and the general public.
• Conduct comprehensive reviews of potential risks on projects and identify controls/mitigation measures.
• Perform inspections and audits of project sites with emphasis on hazard recognition and corrective actions; interface with clients, employees and subcontractors.
• Supervise, develop and manage safety professionals to ensure effective accident prevention.
• Develop and deliver training resources and training matrix aligned with hazards and project schedule.
• Develop and implement work exposure control plans and understanding of IH sampling methods.
