Ames Construction, a heavy civil and industrial contractor based in Las Vegas, Nevada, is seeking a Project Safety Manager to lead safety programs across our heavy civil projects. The role requires implementing compliant safety plans, conducting audits, and delivering training to project personnel.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction safety supervision, knowledge of OSHA/MSHA rules, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of experience in a construction safety supervisory role in heavy civil construction.
• Knowledge of OSHA/MSHA regulations and other applicable safety standards.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
• Certifications such as CSP, CHST, or OSHA 30 are highly desirable.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific safety plans.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for project personnel.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents; prepare detailed reports and corrective action plans.
• Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to integrate safety into all phases of construction.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation and records.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters on the project site.

Working Conditions

Travel: This position is located in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Construction Site Environment: Physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb. Exposed to high noise levels.

Office Environment: Extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
