Job summary

Currie & Brown is seeking an experienced Project Safety Advisor to support a major data center construction program. This site-based role emphasizes strong field presence, risk mitigation and collaboration with contractors to maintain a safe, compliant environment.

The PSA will monitor safety plans, assist with JHA reviews, deliver toolbox talks, and track corrective actions across active construction activities, ensuring timely resolution and escalation when needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction safety experience on active sites.
• Data center or mission-critical construction experience preferred.
• OSHA 30/510 certification required.
• CHST or CSP credential required.
• Experience with High-Risk Activity management and JHA facilitation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site walks to identify and document hazards, corrective actions, responsible owners, and required completion dates.
• Monitor contractor compliance with project safety plans, client safety requirements, and High-Risk Activity (HRA) controls.
• Support Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) reviews and verify required corrective actions are completed before work resumes.
• Support toolbox talks, pre-task briefings, and site safety orientations for new personnel.
• Assist with incident and near-miss documentation, root cause identification, and corrective action tracking through close-out.
• Identify and flag energy isolation activities within assigned areas.
• Coordinate with Energy Marshal Support and the Authorizing Energy Marshal to ensure HRA safety requirements are followed.
• Maintain a strong field presence and proactively engage contractors and project teams to address safety concerns.
• Escalate recurring or high-risk safety issues to appropriate project leadership.

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced Project Safety Advisor (PSA) to support a major data center construction program. This is a site-based role focused on maintaining a strong field presence, identifying and mitigating risk, and working closely with contractors and project stakeholders to promote a safe, compliant working environment.

As a Project Safety Advisor, you will provide on-site safety support across active construction activities. You will monitor contractor compliance, identify potential hazards, support high-risk activity controls, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed out appropriately.

This role requires someone who is proactive, highly visible in the field, and confident working with contractors and project teams in a fast-paced mission critical construction environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years of construction safety experience supporting active construction sites.
• Data center, mission critical, or other large-scale complex construction experience strongly preferred.
• OSHA 30 and/or OSHA 510 required.
• CHST, CSP, or other site-required safety credential required.
• Demonstrated experience with High-Risk Activity (HRA) management, JHA facilitation, and contractor safety compliance.
• Strong understanding of construction safety practices, hazard identification, corrective action management, and incident reporting.
• Experience working directly with contractors, trade partners, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to confidently address safety concerns at all levels.
• SPS-101 Energy Isolation Awareness Training required prior to assignment.
