Job summary

The Judge Group is actively seeking a Building & Safety Project Manager to lead capital projects across multiple plants in NY, WI, CA, ID, NH, VT, AZ, TN, and MI. The role requires 5+ years of experience in capital projects, with prior building construction background and expertise in fire prevention, extreme weather, and utility monitoring systems.

Expect up to 50% travel and coordination with Operations, Quality, Food Safety, Maintenance, Engineering, and Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working on capital projects.
• Prior building construction experience is required.
• Knowledge of fire prevention, extreme weather, and utility monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct facility and office audits to assess compliance with regulations, safety requirements, and internal standards.
• Evaluate existing mechanical, electrical, and building systems to identify improvement opportunities and optimize performance.
• Recommend, plan, and support system upgrades, replacements, and capital improvement projects.
• Develop project scopes, technical drawings, budgets, schedules, and supporting documentation for project approval.
• Review and verify engineering drawings and technical specifications for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate permitting activities and work with local agencies to secure required approvals.
• Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate pricing, and obtain competitive bids for projects and operational needs.
• Lead projects from concept through completion, ensuring objectives, timelines, and deliverables are achieved.
• Monitor project costs and maintain spending within approved budgets.
• Organize and facilitate project review meetings, document action items, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
• Apply project management best practices to effectively manage scope, risk, schedule, and resources.
• Maintain organized records of project documentation in both electronic and physical filing systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Participate in equipment and system testing activities to validate performance and operational readiness.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
