Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking a Maintenance Safety Specialist to support safety leadership across a large production environment. This role bridges maintenance and safety, leveraging hands-on maintenance knowledge to strengthen hazardous energy controls and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include developing and auditing lockout/tagout programs, conducting risk assessments, and delivering safety training. Strong reading of drawings and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in maintenance specifically within manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of lockout/tagout, machine guarding, electrical safety, confined space, hot work, and contractor safety programs.
• Ability to read equipment drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and reduce workplace risk with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams.
• Develop, update, and audit lockout/tagout procedures and energy control programs.
• Conduct machine guarding assessments and recommend corrective actions.
• Support electrical safety, PPE, and maintenance-related safety initiatives.
• Lead contractor safety qualification, onboarding, and compliance efforts.
• Assist with high-risk work programs including confined space, hot work, fall protection, lifting, and equipment installations.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and equipment-related safety concerns.
• Participate in equipment startups, shutdowns, capital projects, and process improvements.
• Deliver training related to maintenance safety programs and safe work practices.
• Serve as a technical resource for equipment safety and maintenance-related compliance.
