About This Role

1. A Project Safety Coordinator shall possess a minimum of 5 years of related experience and training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Preferred certifications include:

• Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST), or
• Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP).

Required certifications include:

• OSHA 500
• First Aid, CPR, AED & BBP trainer
• Forklift Trainer
• Spanish-English bilingual

What You'll Do

1. Support the implementation and management of the Irby Safety Management System, demonstrating safety leadership.
2. Promote proactive safety measures by observing, analyzing, encouraging safe behaviors, and correcting unsafe conditions.
3. Apply knowledge of steel tower assembly, erection, crane and rigging safety protocols, accident investigation, and case management.
4. Integrate safety into project plans, establish safety goals, and monitor safety metrics.
5. Provide safety training, technical support, and feedback to foster learning.
6. Monitor safety compliance, raise awareness, and prioritize continuous safety improvement.
7. Conduct safety meetings and on-site observations; ensure compliance with laws and OSHA reporting.
8. Identify and halt operations with imminent hazards.
9. Support safety committee activities with technical and administrative assistance.

What You'll Bring

1. Strong persuasive skills for dealing with management and supervisors.
2. Ability to organize and present safety and occupational health material effectively.
3. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and anticipate internal customer needs.
4. Proven communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
5. Confidentiality and formal Root Cause Analysis training preferred.
6. Valid driver’s license and clear criminal background check.
7. Knowledge of steel tower assembly, crane operation, and rigging is preferred.
