Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Plant Automation Project Engineer to develop and oversee projects that keep our manufacturing lines safe, efficient, and highly reliable. You will lead automation programs, design and modify mechanical and control systems, and guide controls engineers in building machine software.

The role requires a B.S. in Engineering and 3 years of project engineering experience, with strong Rockwell and AutoCAD skills, plus proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
3 years of project engineering experience.
Strong proficiency in Rockwell, AutoCAD, and program management software.
Ability to fully utilize MS Office, AutoCAD/SolidWorks, and MS Project.
Hydraulic design knowledge (preferred).
Experience in high-speed manufacturing and robotics (preferred).
AutoCAD proficiency (preferred).
Rockwell Automation programs proficiency (preferred).

Responsibilities

Develop and oversee plant projects supporting safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations.
Oversee the plant’s automation program.
Design, plan, coordinate, and schedule plant improvement projects.
Lead and support continuous improvement projects to increase automation efficiency and uptime.
Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Corporate resources, contractors, and external vendors.
Design or modify mechanical and control systems for new or existing equipment.
Direct controls engineers in building machine control software for proper machine operations.
Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams on automation upgrades and maintenance programs.
Create and maintain documentation for equipment, programs, and procedures.
Raise awareness of and ensure compliance with Health & Safety objectives and PPE standards.
Attend required training.
Assign projects to Plant PLC Techs/Specialists, provide direction, and review progress in cooperation with the Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements
