Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Project Procurement professional to act as the primary liaison for project teams, guiding requisition execution and coordinating materials and services. You will collaborate with cross-functional groups to issue RFIs and RFQs, and create requisitions while ensuring alignment with policies and supply chain SLAs.

The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, experience with procurement processes, and familiarity with SAP/Ariba.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Associate's degree + 2 years or high school diploma + 4 years depending on salary grade
  • For Project Procurement Analyst: Associate's degree + 2 years or high school diploma + 4 years may substitute for bachelor
  • For Project Procurement Consultant: bachelor's + 2 years or Associate's +4 years or HS +6 years
  • For Project Procurement Specialist: bachelor's +4 years or Associate +6 years or HS +8 years
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills desired
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills desired
  • Ability to communicate with business partners, stakeholders, and suppliers
  • Understanding of procurement/strategic sourcing, project controls, accounts payable, SAP/Ariba preferred
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint required
  • Ability to measure, analyze, and understand complex business issues
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize the procurement process
  • Basic understanding of contract terms and conditions preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact with project teams for developing requisition execution requirements
  • Provide guidance on policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to issue RFIs/RFQs and create requisitions
  • Assist in selecting materials and services for projects
  • Coordinate material, equipment, and service specifications for purchase orders
  • Gather data and analyze demand to support timely procurement at lowest cost
  • Route requisitions to supply chain sourcing teams
  • Escalate demand issues to support SLAs
  • Ensure plans account for lead times and delivery details
  • Track requirements, logistics, and expediting
  • Identify schedule delays and assess impacts
  • Provide support to the broader Project Procurement organization

Job description

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with project teams for developing purchase requisition execution requirements
  • Provide guidance on AEP Corporation and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to issue RFIs and RFQs and create requisitions for materials and services
  • Assist engineering, operations, and corporate services in selecting materials and services
  • Coordinate material, equipment, and service specifications for purchase orders
  • Gather data and analyze demand for materials and services to support timely procurement at the lowest total cost of ownership
  • Route project-related material and service requisitions to appropriate supply chain sourcing teams
  • Escalate project material and service demand issues to support supply chain service level agreements
  • Ensure supply and contracting plans account for lead times and delivery details
  • Track project requirements, logistics, and expediting activities
  • Identify and anticipate schedule delays or changes and assess cost, schedule, and resource impacts
  • Provide support to the broader Project Procurement organization
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an Associate's degree plus 2–6 years of relevant work experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent plus 4–8 years of relevant work experience, depending on salary grade
  • For Project Procurement Analyst: Associate's degree plus 2 years, or high school diploma/equivalent plus 4 years, may substitute for a bachelor's degree
  • For Project Procurement Consultant: bachelor's degree plus 2 years, or Associate's degree plus 4 years, or high school diploma/equivalent plus 6 years
  • For Project Procurement Specialist: bachelor's degree plus 4 years, or Associate's degree plus 6 years, or high school diploma/equivalent plus 8 years
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills desired
