Job summary

Honda is seeking an engineer at its Lincoln, AL facility to drive continuous improvement and SQDCM performance through data-backed processes and cross-functional collaboration.

You will engage in root-cause analysis, lead engineering studies, and coordinate with NA plants to implement changes that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost while supporting mass production targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent related experience.
• 0-6 years relevant experience; intern or co-op experience preferred.
• Strong continuous improvement mindset; MS Office; problem solving/decision making skills; project management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Identify root causes and implement countermeasures for complex problems.
• Analyze data to identify improvement opportunities and measure impact.
• Complete studies on project/plant characteristic impacts.
• Collaborate with engineering groups to develop and implement countermeasures.
• Manage projects in Mass production environments.
• Develop processes from drawings and work with production teams.

Job Purpose

Utilize engineering methods to engage in continuous improvement activities, while improving SQDCM characteristics.

Key Accountabilities

• Root cause identification and countermeasure for complex problems.
• Data analysis for identification of improvement activities.
• Completion of studies (project/plant characteristic impacts).
• Work closely with other engineering groups to develop solution and implement countermeasures.
• Manage projects (Mass production).
• Develop processes from drawing.
• Work with production team to understand new processes.
• Work with counterparts in other NA plants to understand change points.
• Data analysis/trend identification.
• Maintaining/achieving production targets (budgets/efficiency/quality/delivery).

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering field or equivalent related experience.
• 0-6 years relevant experience based on education, prefer intern or co-op experience (1-2 terms) or related work experience at two years.
• Strong continuous improvement mindset; MS office; problem solving/decision making skills; project management capabilities.

Working Conditions

• Shift rotation when needed, weekend work when needed.
