Job summary

Caterpillar is hiring a Project Pipe Welder B for our Channelview, TX facility. You will set up, operate, and adjust welding equipment to perform GTAW and FCAW welding in all positions, following standard procedures to ensure safety and quality.

Responsibilities include arc cutting and gouging as needed, preparing welds, and moving parts with cranes or forklifts. offsetof overtime and weekend shifts to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass multiple welder qualification tests
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in a production environment
• Be available to work 1st or 2nd shift
• Ability to work overtime to support production demands, including weekends
• One to three years of GTAW and FCAW welding experience

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and adjust welding machines to perform welding operations in all positions
• Follow documented procedures and standard work to perform safe, defect-free welding
• Perform carbon arc cutting and gouging as required
• Prepare and dress welds; sand as needed
• Utilize forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes to move pieces as needed
