Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. is seeking a Project Paint Support to prepare surfaces and apply protective coatings to industrial equipment and machinery. You will ensure work meets quality standards, customer specs, and safety requirements while maintaining productivity.

You will mix finishes, apply coatings using spray equipment, inspect surfaces, read orders and drawings, and keep tools and area clean. This role requires adherence to environmental and safety regulations and the ability to lift up

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED required; trade school preferred.
  • 3 years' experience in a painting or finishing environment preferred.
  • Ability to wear a respirator and work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Mix paints and finishing materials per specs.
  • Apply coatings with spray equipment, brushes, rollers.
  • Inspect finished surfaces for quality and specs.
  • Read work orders and technical drawings.
  • Maintain and clean painting equipment.
  • Follow safety, environmental, and hazardous material rules.
  • Store and dispose of paints and solvents properly.
  • Support with material movement and commissioning activities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Job description

Proof of US citizenship, nationality, and/or permanent resident status in order to comply with all applicable export and import laws and regulations.

The Project Paint Support is responsible for preparing surfaces and applying protective and decorative coatings to industrial equipment, structural steel, and machinery. This position ensures that all painting activities meet company quality standards, customer specifications, and safety requirements while maintaining productivity.

Essential Functions

Mix paints, coatings, primers, and other finishing materials according to manufacturer/ customer specifications specifications.

Apply coatings using spray equipment, brushes, rollers, and other painting tools.

Inspect surfaces and complete work to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.

Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, technical drawings, and paint specifications.

Maintain painting equipment and perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance.

Follow all environmental, health, and safety regulations related to painting application and hazardous materials.

Properly store, handle, and dispose of paints, solvents, and other chemical products.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Assist with material movement, commissioning support activities, and other duties as assigned.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Education and Experience

High school diploma/GED or equivalent is required; Trade school or additional training preferred.

3 years working experience in a relevant environment preferred.

Must be mechanically inclined and possess basic math skills.

Must be good at following instructions

Must be capable of working in a group

Must be able to work any schedule, holidays and weekends

Ability to lift objects up to 35 pounds

Must be able to think quickly and take action

Must be able to wear a respirator.

Ability to work in confined spaces.
