Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in Pennsylvania seeks a Laborer who will focus on visual inspection, transportation and packaging of final work product per customer specs. The role emphasizes safety, basic math, and accurate labeling.

You will operate forklifts, load/unload, assist with shot blast operations, maintain a clean environment, and support multiple departments. This position requires 12-hour shifts with overtime as needed, and a willingness to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2–4 years in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts preferred.
  • Must have attention to detail, including basic math skills with the ability to add and subtract accurately.
  • Proficient in the basic use of a computer to facilitate the entry and completion of work orders.
  • Able to use basic hand tools.
  • Must physically be able to frequently lift up to 35 lbs with frequent bending.
  • Able to multi-task with shifting priorities and multiple interruptions.
  • Must be willing to work shifts and overtime as needed, including 12-hour shifts.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job description

The Laborer will primarily focus on the visual inspection, transportation and packaging of final work product according to customer specification.

Essential Functions
  • Adheres to plant and department safety rules, safely operate all equipment and tools, identifies and reports safety problems, corrects when possible.
  • Transports material from production through final packaging, via forklift or other manual and mobilized equipment.
  • Load and unload material for shot blast operations or other value-added service.
  • Package material into drums, Gaylords, boxes or super sacks according to customer specification, this includes adherence to weight specification.
  • Identify product through labeling and stencils.
  • Perform visual quality inspection of product.
  • Unload trucks with incoming materials.
  • Maintains a clean work environment.
  • Performs miscellaneous functions as needed in various departments.
