Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in hydraulic/water resources and road design.
  • PE Certification is required for this role.

Project or Senior Engineer – Hydraulics/Road Design

Locations: Billings, Bozeman, Helena, MT or Hybrid

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Lead hydraulics design on DOT projects, including:
  • Hydrologic analysis
  • Storm drainage design
  • Low impact development design
  • Irrigation ditch, pipe, and structure design
  • Culvert and ditch design
  • Report preparation (hydraulics and DOT milestone reports)
  • Project proposals and scoping
  • Manage hydraulics for the DOT Group, including:
    • Review and QA/QC
    • General oversight of hydraulic efforts
    • Managing hydraulics budgets
    • Mentoring and training junior staff in hydraulic analysis and design
  • Interact with MDT Hydraulics staff and maintain client relationships
  • Minimum Education Requirements
    • B.S. in Civil, Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
    Required Qualifications (Skills/Experience/Certifications)
    • PE Certification
    • 6+ years of hydraulic/water resources and road design experience
    Preferred Skills and Experience
    • Proficiency with HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, HY-8, AutoDesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis, or similar storm drain modeling software
