Job summary

SMS group Inc. seeks a Manager of Project Operations in Pittsburgh, PA to oversee the operational and financial lifecycle of the project portfolio. You will direct budgeting, analytics, and resource allocation while ensuring alignment with metallurgical industry standards.

Leading Project Managers, you will shape professional development roadmaps, enforce portfolio guidelines, and drive data-driven delivery improvements across the organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Metallurgy.
• At least five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in project management with industrial automation and digitalization.
• Experience with MES, production planning, L2 automation, and SDLC governance (Azure DevOps).

Responsibilities

• Oversee P&L for the project portfolio and direct budgetary estimation and resource allocation.
• Lead portfolio risk mitigation, change control, and critical project escalations.
• Supervise Project Managers, including hiring and performance development roadmaps.
• Drive integration of advanced data analytics across the project lifecycle.
• Negotiate with major clients and vendors to resolve technical or commercial disputes.
