Job summary

Kikiktagruk Inupiat Corporation seeks a Project Manager to lead construction and facilities projects from award to closeout at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. You will oversee schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and compliance to ensure safety and on-time delivery.

The role requires 5 years of project management experience, familiarity with government contracts, and strong communication and organizational skills. Travel and site visits are expected as projects run on active sites.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; degree preferred in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience managing construction, facilities, engineering, or related projects, including estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration.
  • Experience with military installations or federal agencies preferred.
  • Experience with government construction contracts (e.g., firm-fixed price, IDIQ, JOC, SATOC, MATOC).
  • Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with project management and estimating software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of assigned construction and facilities projects.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and work plans.
  • Prepare estimates, proposals, and project cost analyses.
  • Monitor project financial performance and profitability.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and internal resources.
  • Review plans, specifications, scopes of work, and contract documents.
  • Manage project documentation, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout packages.
  • Conduct project meetings and maintain communication with customers and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Identify project risks and develop practical solutions to maintain project success.
  • Support business development and estimating activities as needed.
  • Assist with other duties as needed or assigned to ensure project and team success.

Salary: $80,000 - $125,000

Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for managing construction and facility projects from award through closeout while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements. This position serves as the primary point of contact for customers, subcontractors, and project teams while coordinating all aspects of project execution. Successful candidates possess strong organizational abilities, excellent communication skills, and experience managing multiple concurrent projects.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage all phases of assigned construction and facilities projects.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and work plans.
  • Prepare estimates, proposals, and project cost analyses.
  • Monitor project financial performance and profitability.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 5 years of experience managing construction, facilities, engineering, or related projects, including project estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration preferred.
  • Experience with military installations or federal agencies preferred.
  • Experience with government construction contracts, such as firm‑fixed price, indefinite‑delivery, and task order‑based contract vehicles (ex: IDIQ, JOC, SATOC, MATOC, etc.) preferred.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using project management, estimating, scheduling, document management, and other construction‑related software.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • OSHA 30 Certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Quality Control, Project Management, or other construction‑related certifications considered as asset.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required contract and site access credentials.
  • Must have an uncompromising commitment to safety.
Working Environment

The duties of this position require job performance in indoor and outdoor settings, which includes office work as well as frequent visits to active construction sites, which may be indoors or outdoors. Performance of essential job duties may involve exposure to various weather conditions, uneven terrain, construction equipment or materials, noise, duty, and other job‑related hazards. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and appropriate safety gear is required on all active job sites. Travel between job sites may be required.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, kneel, bend, walk, climb, and otherwise navigate active construction areas safely.
  • Ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move materials or equipment, regularly up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to use hands to operate computers, phones, and other office or field equipment.
  • Ability to climb stairs or ladders and conduct site walkthroughs in unfinished or outdoor areas.
  • Visual acuity to read drawings, perform inspections, and review detailed documentation.
  • Ability to use verbal and written/electronic communication for daily tasks and communication.
