Job summary

Butterfly Staffing is recruiting an experienced Project Manager for a major renovation project at the VA Medical Center in Salem, Virginia. The PM will oversee all aspects of the phased construction within an active medical environment, coordinating with field leadership, subcontractors, and government representatives to keep work progressing safely and in line with contract requirements.

• Must have federal construction PM experience on complex projects.
• Experience with VA, USACE, NAVFAC, DoD or similar federal programs.
• Recent management of projects valued at $7M+ and above.
• Experience coordinating work in active hospital/medical environments.
• Strong skills in submittals, RFIs, scheduling, change management and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall project execution from initiation to closeout.
• Collaborate with field leadership, subcontractors, and government representatives to keep project on track and compliant.
• Manage phased construction around ongoing medical operations; ensure safety and contractual adherence.
• Coordinate scheduling, changes, and documentation across trades to minimize disruption.

Butterfly Staffing is recruiting an experienced Project Manager with strong federal construction experience for a major renovation project at the VA Medical Center in Salem, Virginia.

This project involves phased construction within an active medical environment, with work across multiple trades including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, communications, fire suppression, carpentry, demolition and site work.

The Project Manager will be responsible for overall project execution, working closely with field leadership, subcontractors, government representatives and other project stakeholders to keep the project moving safely, efficiently and in accordance with contract requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Strong federal construction Project Management experience
• Experience with VA, USACE, NAVFAC, DoD or similarly structured federal construction projects
• Recent experience managing projects of comparable size and complexity, including projects valued at $7M+
• Experience with phased renovation in an active hospital, medical center or patient care environment
• Strong working knowledge of federal submittals, RFIs, scheduling, change management, documentation and subcontractor coordination
• Experience coordinating shutdowns, phasing and construction activities around ongoing facility operations
• Strong communication and problem solving skills with the ability to work effectively with government representatives, subcontractors and field teams

The Project

• The work includes phased construction involving demolition, earthwork, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, communications and fire suppression within an operating VA Medical Center.
• Because the facility will remain active during construction, experience coordinating work around ongoing medical operations is particularly important.
