We believe our work adds meaning and value to the world. Ideas inspire positive change; thinking outside the box can reveal new perspectives; and attention to detail leads to important insights. Above all, we value collaboration as the best way forward.

Primary Responsibilities

HDR is seeking a Project Manager to advance our water, wastewater, and stormwater design efforts across the New England area. The role involves client development, project management, and project delivery.

Candidates should have experience in water/wastewater infrastructure planning, design, and construction administration, focusing on condition assessment, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, wet weather planning, stormwater management, utilities, alternatives analysis, GIS analysis, and asset management. A combination of these areas is preferred.

Our team is growing with challenging and innovative projects. We work within multidisciplinary teams to design integrated, sustainable infrastructure that optimizes operations, reduces costs, and minimizes failure risks. We prioritize partnering with our clients.

As Project Manager, your responsibilities include:

  1. Planning and managing all aspects of small to medium single-discipline projects and large, complex multidisciplinary projects.
  2. Coordinating the work of engineers and balancing the planning team throughout project development.
  3. Establishing client relations and participating in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.
  4. Participating in reviews with governing agencies.
  5. Conducting work sessions for design development and contract documentation with staff.
  6. Coordinating workload and ensuring timely completion of documents.
  7. Tracking project finances and adjusting work efforts to stay within schedule.
  8. Collaborating with project controllers and department managers for reviews.
  9. Performing technical analyses and preparing reports.
  10. Conducting studies related to infrastructure planning and improvements.
  11. Leading client meetings and workshops.
  12. Providing leadership and mentorship to water/wastewater engineers and staff.
  13. Performing other duties as needed.
