Job description

Water/Wastewater Engineering Project Manager
Middleburg, Florida

Clay County Utility Authority (CCUA) has an exciting opportunity for a water/wastewater engineer to join their growing in-house engineering team as a project manager.

This position will have a once in a lifetime opportunity to assist in managing several hundred million dollars in capital improvement projects that will help to shape this rapidly growing area for generations. Programmed new capital improvement projects, plant distribution and collection system expansions, and utility coordination and relocation work will be instrumental in helping to increase capacity for CCUA’s 22 water plants, 7 wastewater plants, and interconnected reclaimed water system. As a one water utility, CCUA is constantly evaluating alternative water supply techniques to expand its water portfolio and will be building these projects in the next decade. These innovative, career-defining projects are expected to include stormwater harvesting to augment an extensive reclaimed water system, aquifer storage and recovery, incorporation of potable reuse as part of the water system, and continued expansions of water and advanced water reclamation and reuse plants.

The individual, as part of a team, will be responsible for scoping selected capital projects, hiring and managing engineering design consultants, selecting construction teams through a bidding process, and inspecting and overseeing construction to ensure the projects stay on-schedule and within budget. This position will also work closely with other stakeholders for each project, such as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), Saint Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD), Clay County, and other utility providers.

CCUA offers competitive benefits including a pension with no waiting period, 100% paid health insurance for the employee, paid training, a tuition reimbursement program, and a flexible work environment. The Authority recognizes the importance of family work/life balance with caring and supportive leadership.
