Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead municipal and private sector water and wastewater projects in the Southeast. You will manage teams, coordinate with clients and regulators, and drive design success using Civil 3D and hydraulic modeling tools.

You will mentor staff, manage scope, schedule, and budget, and contribute to business development while delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 7+ years of experience in municipal water and wastewater projects.
• Strong knowledge of Civil 3D and hydraulic modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage water and wastewater infrastructure and process design projects for municipal and private sector clients.
• Lead project teams in the preparation of construction drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Oversee hydraulic modeling and system analysis using tools such as WaterCAD, SewerCAD, InfoWorks WS, or InfoWater.
• Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders including water/sewer authorities.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure successful project delivery.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance development for project staff.
• Utilize project tracking tools to monitor progress, resources, and financial performance.
• Support business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

What you bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• 7+ years of experience in the design and management of municipal water and wastewater projects
• Strong knowledge of Civil 3D, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, and Microsoft Office applications
• Experience with InfoWorks WS and/or InfoWater (Innovyze) preferred
• Proven ability to manage multiple large or complex projects simultaneously
• Experience leading and developing project teams
• Strong understanding of project management principles including scope, schedule, and budget control
• Proficiency with project tracking tools such as Vision or Microsoft Project
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused approach
• Experience working on projects located in the southeastern United States preferred
