Job description

Job Title: Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

RK&K, with a diverse backlog of municipal engineering assignments, is seeking self-motivated and collaborative Project Managers. You will lead municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including feasibility studies, engineering design, construction document preparation, and construction management. Based in our Newport News, Virginia Beach, Raleigh, or Charlotte offices, you will deliver complex projects and market to municipal clients in the Hampton Roads and Mid-Atlantic regions.

Essential Functions

1. Develop project deliverables, coordinating engineering disciplines within a collaborative team environment.
2. Solve complex problems, evaluate technical options, and analyze costs and benefits for water/wastewater clients.
3. Mentor and develop junior engineering staff, fostering growth and building project teams.
4. Manage various water/wastewater facility projects.
5. Deliver projects such as conveyance, sewage collection, stormwater management, and water rehabilitation.
6. Negotiate project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
7. Use internal systems for project management, quality control, and assurance.
8. Interface with clients, agencies, and subconsultants to pursue and execute projects.
9. Create project opportunities through networking with utilities and agencies.
10. Support marketing efforts for new water/wastewater municipal projects.

Required Skills and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or related field.
2. At least eight years of relevant consulting experience in municipal water/wastewater engineering.
3. Existing relationships with municipal/private clients or ability to develop them.
4. Creative problem-solving skills.
5. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Preferred Skills and Experience

1. Advanced degree in civil or environmental engineering.
2. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
3. Professional Engineering (PE) license.
4. Proficiency in AutoCAD and BIM.
