Job description

US Water is a design/build and operation/maintenance service provider to water and wastewater treatment plants and water infrastructure throughout the US, with 750 employees across 18 states. Our headquarters is in New Port Richey, FL 34652. We are growing rapidly and seeking a Project Manager focused on new and rehabilitation construction projects. Ideally, this role will be based in the Tampa Bay area with the ability to work at local construction sites.

Job Summary:

The Project Manager will oversee underground water utility construction projects. Responsibilities include contributing to business development and project delivery, including planning, design, permitting, and construction of advanced treatment plants, biosolids, pumping stations, pipelines, and integrated water resources projects. The role involves managing all aspects of construction projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to high customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
  1. Manage all phases of construction projects from concept design/feasibility through preconstruction to closeout.
  2. Ensure compliance with contract requirements by thoroughly understanding project scope.
  3. Prepare, revise, and update project schedules and budgets. Review performance weekly with Superintendents and take corrective actions as needed.
  4. Prioritize safety and ensure staff meet safety training requirements.
  5. Conduct job cost analysis, lead teams to complete projects accurately and on schedule, liaise with clients, and ensure compliance with specifications, budgets, permits/regulations, and best practices.
  6. Develop scope, schedule, and budget for contracts and select vendors.
  7. Manage contracts with contractors, engineering consultants, and laborers.
  8. Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure all submittals are in order.
  9. Manage schedules to ensure timely project completion.
  10. Approve and submit contractor invoices for payment.
  11. Facilitate decision-making and resolve complex challenges.
  12. Authorize additional work in writing before commencement.
  13. Participate in technical and quality control reviews of planning and design documents.
  14. Assist in business development through proposals and presentations, demonstrating project understanding and approaches.
  15. Contribute to improving company resources and tools to enhance project management efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  1. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida.
  2. Valid Florida driver’s license with a good driving record.
  3. Strong safety mindset with the ability to obtain OSHA 10 Certification.
  4. Minimum of 5+ years' experience managing Design/Build construction and maintenance of underground water utilities, including infrastructure water and wastewater treatment plants.
  5. Proficiency in MS Office, Bluebeam, BIM, MS Project, and other design/build tools.
  6. Strong project management and leadership skills with a technical background.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conducting effective meetings and presentations.
  8. Supervisory skills including assigning, directing, inspecting work, scheduling, and resolving conflicts on large projects.
