Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager / Construction Manager to be based in Los Angeles, CA. This role leads project management activities across budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and construction closeout for complex programs.

The candidate will guide project teams, enforce policies, and liaise with clients while ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery. A strong background in capital programs and California contracting is preferred.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in engineering, construction management, architecture or similar field; 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience managing capital programs and projects (10+ years) incl. planning, design, construction, contract administration.
  • Healthcare, government or education facilities design experience (5+ years).
  • California public contracting, labor agreements, prevailing wage, DIR, DSA, HCAI experience.
  • Additional courses in business, communications, or facilities planning are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee project administration from budgeting and scheduling through procurement and closeout.
  • Provide guidance to subordinate managers and liaise between AECOM and clients.
  • Ensure projects meet design, budget, and schedule goals; manage risks and reporting.
  • Coordinate with design teams, users, and stakeholders to capture requirements.
  • Support business development and proposal efforts as needed.

Job Description

AECOMis seeking aProject Manager / Construction Managerto be based inLos Angeles, CA.

  • Responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.
  • Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface.
  • Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.
  • Responsible for administering the project from budgeting/schedule stage through procurement and contract closeout. Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned project.
  • Collaborates and communicates with a broad community of stakeholders.
  • Assists Client with delivery method selection, procurement, contract planning and administration.
  • Interfaces and coordinates with the design team from design and through construction, including collaboration with users and stakeholders to translate their requirements.
  • Represents the Client in day-to-day project activities to ensure work is accomplished safely, aligned with project goals and criteria, and within budget and schedule, and on time.
  • Resolves complex project related issues, disputes, and disagreements
  • Provides functional direction over areas of responsibility including project schedules, cost control, quality management and control.
  • Manages the plan check and permit process, and construction phase inspections.
  • Reviews status and monitors variances of the project management information system relative to scheduling, cost control and other project metrics, and provide project reporting
  • Reviews and verifies submitted applications for payment and performs overall fiscal management of multiple projects
  • Supports Program Management business development and proposal efforts as needed.

Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in engineering, construction management, architecture or similar related field preferred and 8+ Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience managing capital programs and projects including building/facilities planning, team procurement, design, construction, contract administration, cost, scheduling and reporting
  • 5+ years of experience with healthcare, government and/or education facilities design, planning and construction
  • California public contracting, labor agreements, prevailing wage / DIR, DSA, HCAI experience
  • Additional courses and training in business administration, public relations, accounting, school finance, personnel management, educational facilities planning, and communication

Preferred Licenses and Certificates:

  • A valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI)
  • A valid Project Management Professional certification by the Project Management Institute
  • LEED Professional Accreditation
