Qualifications

• 5+ years of Project Management experience in utility infrastructure or related linear projects.
• DOT, municipal, or utility relocation experience is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling, forecasting, cost controls, and financial tracking.
• Experience managing external engineers, contractors, and multiple project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple utility relocation projects in various phases simultaneously.
• Coordinate relocation requests associated with DOT and municipal transportation projects.
• Engage and manage external engineering and design partners.
• Coordinate engineering designs, cost estimates, schedules, and project deliverables.
• Manage communication between internal stakeholders, engineers, contractors, DOT, and municipal agencies.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and forecasts.
• Track budgets, actual costs, and project variances.
• Review invoices and monitor overall project financial performance.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, schedule impacts, and cost issues.
• Maintain project dashboards, reporting, and documentation.

Project Manager – Utility Infrastructure

Location: Atlanta, GA – Hybrid (2 days in office per week)
Salary: $130,000 - $165,000 depending on experience

We are a growing construction and program management firm supporting major infrastructure and utility programs throughout the Southeast.

We are currently supporting a large-scale utility infrastructure program in the Atlanta market, managing approximately $100M in projects annually. The program focuses on utility relocations associated with DOT and municipal transportation projects, with numerous projects moving through engineering, design, construction, and closeout at any given time.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the team and help manage these projects from the initial relocation request through construction.

Job Details

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple utility relocation projects simultaneously through various stages of development.

When a DOT or municipal transportation project requires an existing utility to be relocated, you will help manage the process from the initial request through engineering/design, cost development, agency coordination, and ultimately construction.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage multiple utility relocation projects in various phases simultaneously
• Coordinate incoming relocation requests associated with DOT and municipal transportation projects
• Engage and manage external engineering and design partners
• Coordinate engineering designs, cost estimates, schedules, and project deliverables
• Manage communication between internal stakeholders, engineers, contractors, DOT, and municipal agencies
• Develop and maintain project schedules and forecasts
• Track budgets, actual costs, and project variances
• Review invoices and monitor overall project financial performance
• Identify and mitigate project risks, schedule impacts, and cost issues
• Maintain project dashboards, reporting, and documentation
• Review and work with engineering design and construction drawings
• Support projects through the transition from engineering/design into construction

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Project Management experience within utility infrastructure or related linear projects
• Natural gas utility experience is preferred
• Experience within electric, oil/pipeline, water, fiber, or other linear infrastructure will also be considered
• Experience managing projects from design through construction
• DOT, municipal, or utility relocation experience is highly preferred
• Strong understanding of project scheduling, forecasting, cost controls, and financial tracking
• Experience managing external engineers, contractors, and multiple project stakeholders
• Comfortable reviewing engineering design and construction drawings
• Strong Excel skills
• Smartsheet experience preferred
• Familiarity with MicroStation preferred
• Ability to successfully manage multiple projects in different phases at the same time
