Chelan County Public Utility District (PUD) in Wenatchee, WA is seeking a Project Manager at up to Principal level. This in-person role leads project teams across construction, maintenance, and infrastructure projects with a focus on scope, schedule, and budget.

Salary ranges from $103,360 to $205,320 annually depending on level and qualifications, with comprehensive benefits and relocation reimbursement. Multiple PM levels offer path to senior leadership in a hands-on utility environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
  • 3+ years experience in construction or major maintenance project management.
  • PMP certification within 24 months of entry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from initiation through close-out, delivering on time and within budget.
  • Oversee facility construction, hydro rehab, or major system projects as assigned.
  • Develop plans with milestones, resource estimates, risks, and quality requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and contract terms while coordinating with stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management; Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering; Network Engineering, or a related field, from four-year college or university
3+ years experience performing construction or major maintenance project management
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) within 24 months of entry into the role

*This is not a remote or hybrid position, but requires regular, in-person attendance at our headquarters in Wenatchee, WA. Relocation reimbursement is available.

Project Manager (up to Principal)

This position will be filled at either the Project Manager, Project Manager Senior or Project Manager Principal level, depending on candidate qualifications.

Project Manager Job Summary:

A Project Manager is responsible for leading project teams in the day to day execution of projects ranging in complexity to achieve an established set of outcomes. Responsibilities include all phases of projects, including initiation, planning, execution, and close-out on time and within budget.
A Project Manager may be assigned to manage facility construction or major maintenance projects in areas such as hydro power plant rehab, utility transmission or distribution system construction, major building construction, and/or telecommunications building infrastructure.

Project Manager Salary Range:

Project Manager - The starting salary range for the Project Manager is $103,360 - $129,200 (based on qualifications). With tenure and strong performance in this role an employee may earn up to a maximum of $155,040, annualized.

Project Manager Senior - The starting salary range for the Project Manager Senior is $115,840 - $144,800 (based on qualifications). With tenure and strong performance in this role an employee may earn up to a maximum of $173,760, annualized.

Project Manager Principal - The starting salary range for the Project Manager Principal is $136,880 - $171,100 (based on qualifications). With tenure and strong performance in this role an employee may earn up to a maximum of $205,320, annualized.

Project Manager Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Project Execution: Manage projects ranging in complexity according to an established scope, schedule, and budget (approved Business Case). Control project activities by measuring progress in accordance with established project plans and objectives.
  • Project Planning: Develop plans to implement and manage projects including resource requirements, milestones, deliverables, risk assessments, cost estimates, quality requirements and project-specific policies, procedures, and guidelines. Work with stakeholders to develop project objectives.
  • Project Control Systems: Follow effective project control systems to ensure contractor and District activities comply with established work schedules and contract terms.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that quality control processes and procedures are in place throughout the project to ensure customer satisfaction and technical requirements of project are met.

Chelan PUD will not be offering any work visa sponsorship for this role.

Project Manager Qualifications & Skills:
Project Manager –
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management; Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering; Network Engineering, or a related field, from four-year college or university.
  • 3+ years experience performing construction or major maintenance project management is required.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI From the Project Management Institute within 24 months of entry into the role.
Project Manager Senior –
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management; Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering; Network Engineering, or a related field, from four-year college or university.
  • 7+ years of experience in construction or major maintenance project management is required.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI From the Project Management Institute within 24 months of entry into the role.
Project Manager Principal –
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management; Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering; Network Engineering, or a related field, from four-year college or university.
  • 10+ years experience performing construction or major maintenance project management is required.
  • 15+ years demonstrated successful experience managing complex large-scale projects and programs required. Typical experience level is required.
  • Portfolio Management Professional (PMP) From the Project Management Institute

  • Pursuant to the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards, Chelan County Public Utility District #1 conducts background screening of personnel who have access to the District's critical physical and/or cyber assets.
