Job summary

MSS Solutions, LLC is seeking a Project Manager/Turnkey Supervisor to oversee Capital Projects in Charlotte, North Carolina. The successful candidate will coordinate project work, ensure adherence to specifications, and manage a team of technicians.

Job description

Role and Responsibilities
  • Determine Capital Project needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet all the customer’s facilities requirements.
  • Coordinate with sales to provide data needed to assemble project scope.
  • Coordinate project specific engineering.
  • Develop scope of work and project specifications.
  • Supervise the work of technicians and helpers.
  • Organize, plan, schedule and delegate work, labor and equipment.
  • Work with engineering to determine equipment specifications and procure materials.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders for subcontractors.
  • Provide complete closeout documentation and warranty coverage.
  • Responsible for reviewing and maintaining cost estimates of material, sub-contractors, purchased equipment and other project related activities.
  • Work with engineering on the specification and pricing of purchased equipment to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options etc.
  • Optimizes job costs by negotiating prices with vendors/sub-contractors.
  • Document work by maintaining files for each job.
  • Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college, military training or technical school with a minimum of 5 years ‘experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, to include:
    • Chilled water systems.
    • Boilers.
    • Domestic water systems.
    • Package, VAV, and split systems.
    • Exhaust and makeup air.
  • Previous experience managing a team.
  • Preferred experience with PE a plus.
  • Regular and supervisory probation period required, if applicable.
  • Random drug testing required.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
  • Must successfully pass a background check & drug test.
  • Physical Demands: Frequent sitting, occasional stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and climbing. Frequent standing, walking, reaching and gripping. Clear speaking and adequate hearing sufficient to communicate effectively and respond appropriately in-person and/or on the telephone, vision sufficient to read source materials and computer screen data, and repetitive motions for computer equipment use.
  • Material Handling: Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. and constant lifting up to 25 lbs., placing this position in the very heavy physical demand classification (PDC).
Work Environment

Exposure to weather, extreme heat or cold, high noise intensity level, atmospheric conditions, exposure to electrical shock, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, wet and/or humid, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working high exposure places (job sites) and/or an office environment with conditioned air and bright lights.
