Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Project/Program Manager to lead transformer service projects from planning through completion.

You will coordinate scope, schedules, resources, budgets, and customer communications while guiding cross-functional teams to meet quality and safety requirements. The role focuses on delivering complex transformer service projects on time and within budget, managing risks, and driving continuous improvement across the Services Division.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or related field, or an associate degree with more than seven years of transformer/substation experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in project management with a focus on transformer services or heavy industrial equipment.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
  • Work authorization to work in the United States.

  • Manage the full lifecycle of transformer service projects from initiation through closure.
  • Develop project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and third-party contractors.

Job Description:

The Opportunity Manage transformer service projects from planning through completion, overseeing scope, schedules, resources, budgets, vendors, and customer communication. The role coordinates cross-functional teams, addresses project risks and execution challenges, tracks performance, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. Project work supports the reliable maintenance and repair of transformer assets while helping ensure successful project execution, customer satisfaction, and compliance with quality, safety, and environmental requirements.

  • Support post-project reviews and continuous improvement of project management processes and tools within the Services Division.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field, or an associate degree with more than seven years of experience in the transformer or substation field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in project management with a focus on transformer services or heavy industrial equipment.
  • Experience delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Understanding of transformer technology, maintenance, and repair processes preferred.
  • Proficiency with project management software, including MS Project or Primavera P6.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
