Job summary

ARCO in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a PM to lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of construction projects from preconstruction to closeout. You will work with clients and the design team to shape concepts and budgets, review scope and fees, and oversee subcontractor buyout.

Ideal candidates bring 4–6 years of construction management or engineering design experience, preferably on interior, ground-up projects, and proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • 4-6 years' of construction management or engineering design experience, preferably for interior projects.
  • Previous experience leading ground-up commercial or industrial projects is preferred.
  • Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of project from the earliest stages of preconstruction through project closeout.
  • Work closely with clients and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings and project budget.
  • Participate in the proposal meeting with clients to review the scope of work, discuss cost reduction, provide value engineering ideas, and negotiate contracts & fees.
  • Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout process for all trades and vendors.
  • Identify and investigate opportunities to procure material and/or specialty equipment directly when advantageous to budget or schedule.
  • Develop and review subcontractor scopes of work/contracts, project schedule, and site logistics plan with the Project Superintendent.
  • Lead preconstruction planning meetings with designers, subcontractors and vendors to solve constructability/sequencing/manpower issues.
  • Organize, plan, and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
  • Track and manage project performance vs budget; prepare owner pay applications, cost status, and progress billing reports.
  • Find ways to make the construction process enjoyable for clients, subcontractors, and vendors without sacrificing quality or safety.

A Day in the Life:

Necessary Qualifications:


  • BS in Engineering, Construction Mnaagement or related field


  • 4-6 years' of construction management or engineering design experience, preferably for interior projets


  • Previous experience leading ground-up commercial or industrial projects is preferred


  • Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project
