Job summary

ARCO, a Family of Construction Companies, is seeking a Project Manager to lead field operations on diverse construction projects from preplanning to closeout in the Dallas area.

You will plan schedules, coordinate subcontractors, manage safety, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while upholding quality standards. This role offers long-term career growth, competitive benefits, and active leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • 5-25 years of construction experience.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and project scheduling software.
  • OSHA certification and familiarity with safety protocols.
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license; ability to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

  • Attend post-award review meetings to receive project information and preplanning details.
  • Assist the project manager in preparing a schedule of construction activities and manpower needs.
  • Direct and control the total construction project to meet specs and schedules while maximizing profit.
  • Coordinate subcontractors to integrate work with project timelines.
  • Inform supervisors and subcontractors promptly of any schedule changes.
  • Prepare progress and cost reports reflecting actual costs.
  • Review requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, and other reports.
  • Cooperate with the owner and representatives, keeping them informed of progress.
  • Assist architects/owner reps in the long-term interests of the company.
  • Hold job site meetings and report regularly on progress, plans and problems.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
  • Attend the post-award review meeting to receive project information and details for preplanningbefore construction
  • Participate with the project manager in preparing a schedule of construction activities and theirsequence, the organization structure, staff selection, and the manpower and constructionequipment requirements of the project
  • Direct and control the total construction project to meet specifications and within the allotted timeschedule in an efficient manner to produce the expected profit –
  • Assist the project manager/engineer in their duties including prompt shipmentof materials and permanent equipment and obtaining approvals of shop drawings and materialsamples
  • Coordinate the activities of subcontractors to permit them to perform their work effectively and tointegrate it with project schedules and progress
  • Inform all supervisors and subcontractors promptly of any construction schedule changes
  • Assist in the preparation of all job progress and cost reports to accurately reflect actual costs
  • Review and approve all requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other significant reportsand documents
  • Cooperate with the owner and his representatives, keeping them informed of constructionprogress
  • Cooperate with architects or owner representatives on an amicable basis, but in the long-terminterest of the company
  • Hold job site meetings with the project manager and the regional manager
  • Report regularly to the project manager to keep them constantly informed on job progress, plans,and problems that could significantly affect costs or schedules
  • Maintain a daily diary to permanently record all significant project facts, events, conditions,visitors, owner representative contacts, commitments, agreements, and approvals
  • Direct adherence to the company’s safety program in all phases and areas of the project
  • Make decisions under tight deadlines
  • Organize people, tools, and equipment and plan/manage multiple activities to accomplishdesired results
  • Demonstrate leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, direct others, andeffectively address conflict
  • Exhibit commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes, making necessary changes, using customer input to make improvements, and meeting/exceeding internal and external customer expectations
  • Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations
Necessary Qualifications
  • 5-25 years of construction experience
  • Computer skills: proficiency in using Word, Excel, Outlook, and project scheduling programs
  • OSHA certification and familiarity with safety protocols
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in your state of residence
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to: standing or walking for long periods of time, occasionally on uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and/or lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds.
