Job summary

ARCO Companies in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a driven Project Manager to lead construction projects from inception to completion. You will handle estimates, scheduling, quality control, safety, and reporting while coordinating with owners and design teams to meet project goals.

Responsibilities include managing bids, buyouts, site meetings, and value engineering ideas to optimize cost and quality. A strong candidate has 1–5 years of hands-on PM experience and a civil/engineering/CM background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil, Mechanical, or Engineering related and/or Construction Management; with minimum of 3.0 GPA
• 1-5 years' hands‑on construction experience as a project manager, assistant PM, or related internships
• Experience in Design/Build preferred
• Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project

• Responsible for managerial and administrative aspects of a project including estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, progress billing, design review and coordination, cost reporting, safety, and proposal preparation
• Ensure an accurate and complete project estimate
• Work with owners and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings
• Participate in the proposal meeting to review scope, reduce costs, and provide value engineering ideas
• Oversee the buyout process and subcontractor selections
• Conduct bi-weekly job site meetings and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
• Communicate openly with leadership and train interns/coops
• Make sound decisions and maintain project priorities
• Commit to quality by evaluating project-related processes

A Day in the Life:

• Conduct bi-weekly job site meetings on site
• Prioritize numerous tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines to 100% completion
• Communicate openly with leadership, team members and train coops/interns

• Organize, plan, and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results
• Commit to quality by evaluating project-related processes
• Make necessary changes, use customer input to make improvements, and meet/exceed internal and external client expectations

Necessary Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Civil, Mechanical, or Engineering related and/or Construction Management; with minimum of 3.0 GPA

• Computer skills: proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project
