Job description

Position/Title:

Technical Sales Assistant
Exempt
Reports to: Territory Sales Manager

General Summary of Position:

The Technical Sales Assistant supports the Garland Sales Representative in project management, on‑site quality control, contractor and customer communication, core sampling, inspections, and assistance with specifications, details, and RAMP (Roof Asset Management Planning software). The role plans, coordinates, directs, and supervises subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely, on‑budget, and quality project completion.

Core & Essential Functions – Tasks:
  • Assist in assessing new projects and leak solutions via inspection reports and photographs.
  • Assist in developing asset management plans, project‑specific plans, details and specifications.
  • Control the flow of information on the project site.
  • Manage subcontractors by evaluating, monitoring, and controlling performance.
  • Track jobsite progress via daily reports and photographs.
  • Monitor work and compare it against the schedule and specification requirements.
  • Enforce quality assurance and control for compliance with the specification.
  • Provide daily updates to the Garland Representative’s team.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum: High school diploma (post‑secondary degree preferred). Background in construction, construction design, estimating, engineering or architecture preferred. Excellent math, written, and oral communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Ability to learn Visio, LucidChart, and Microsoft Project. Multi‑tasking and detail orientation. Ability to work effectively with all management levels. Adherence to health and safety regulations. Driving required; valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Vehicle in good working condition and meeting safety, insurance, and legal requirements. Travel (domestic by vehicle, occasional plane, overnight) may be required.

Physical and Other Requirements:

The assistant must be able to carry, push, pull, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs. of roofing material routinely; climb ladders and traverse roof levels; read at various heights; occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch; operate equipment; tolerate inclement weather; and have normal vision and hearing. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and overnight travel required. Must maintain a valid state driver license and acceptable driving record.
