Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, electrical, civil, or process controls engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 15-20 years' experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience leading projects of at least $0.5MM and handling larger ones.
  • Strong written and verbal communication across teams.
  • Coaching and mentoring junior engineers and designers.

Job Description

Oversight of various-sized projects, often with responsibility for management and performance across multiple disciplines. The responsibilities include planning, directing, supervising, and controlling all technical, fiscal, and administrative phases and functions of project’s activities. The Project Manager will safely deliver projects that meet performance expectations, on time and within budget.

  • Lead multiple projects, accountable for scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Work with contractors, client representatives, and senior management to evaluate technical details and logistics of projects to define the scope, cost, and schedule for the project.
  • Create and track project schedules and budgets. Accountable for successfully leading projects from initial design through start-up. Expected to safely deliver projects that meet performance expectations, on time, and within budget.
  • Develop Scope of Work (SOW) documents to use for bids solicitation, including technical descriptions and schematic drawings. Prefer experience with Engineering/Procurement/Construction (EPC), capital projects, validation, and technical writing. .
  • Assist in maintaining/updating facility specifications and standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments and external companies, including vendors, engineering contractors, and construction contractors.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Process Controls Engineering disciplines.
  • In lieu of degrees, 15-20 years' experience will be considered.
  • Experience in a project management role leading projects of at least $0.5MM in size and capable of handling more complex projects over $500K.
  • Independent development of scope alternatives and engineering requirements.
  • Ability to manage multi-discipline engineering projects with little direction.
  • Demonstrate experience as project manager with strong communications, technical, and analytical skills.
  • Capability of coaching and mentoring junior engineers and designers.
  • Knowledge of API codes and refining industry practices. Knowledge of ASME codes preferred.
  • Highly skilled in MS Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, priority-setting, decision-making, and performance management skills.
  • Effective communications (in English), oral and written.
  • Ability to adjust schedules to meet business needs.
