We are seeking an experienced Project Manager, Strategic Initiatives to lead cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives across the organization. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Initiatives, this position partners with technology, clinical, operational, business, and other stakeholders to plan and execute projects that advance organizational priorities. Projects will vary based on organizational priorities and may include healthcare technology implementations, enterprise applications, system integrations, clinical and business systems, operational and process improvements, cybersecurity and risk initiatives, vendor implementations, and other strategic or cross-functional projects assigned. The role also performs business analysis activities, including requirements gathering, workflow and process documentation, and translating business objectives into actionable project plans.

The Role:

This is an experienced-level project management position requiring a current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and demonstrated success managing projects within healthcare IT or healthcare technology environments. The Project Manager, Strategic Initiatives, independently manages assigned projects from initiation through implementation and closeout while exercising sound judgment regarding risks, priorities, stakeholder needs, and issues requiring escalation.

Work Arrangement:

• Work arrangement will be based on business needs and the requirements of assigned projects. The role requires effective collaboration with geographically distributed teams and availability during established business hours and projectrelated meetings.

Your Mission: What You’ll Do Day-to-Day:

Key Responsibilities

• Manage assigned projects through the full project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, implementation, and closeout.
• Partner with project sponsors and stakeholders to define objectives, scope, requirements, deliverables, timelines, dependencies, resource needs, and measures of success.
• Develop and maintain project charters, project plans, schedules, work breakdown structures, communication plans, risk and issue logs, decision logs, status reports, and other project documentation as appropriate.
• Perform business analysis activities by gathering and documenting business and functional requirements and assisting with currentstate and futurestate process and workflow documentation.
• Coordinate project activities across technical, clinical, operational, business, vendor, and other stakeholder groups; establish clear roles, responsibilities, expectations, and deadlines.
• Track project scope, schedule, milestones, deliverables, risks, issues, decisions, action items, and, when applicable, budget; identify deviations and coordinate corrective action.
• Proactively identify and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, constraints, and resource challenges; elevate concerns appropriately when leadership decisions or support are required.
• Manage changes to project scope, requirements, timelines, and deliverables using established project governance and changecontrol practices.
• Develop and execute project communication plans and provide timely, accurate status updates to project sponsors, stakeholders, and leadership.
• Schedule and facilitate project meetings, working sessions, status reviews, and decision forums that result in clear actions, owners, and accountability.
• Build effective working relationships across departments and lead through coordination and influence in a matrixed environment.
• Coordinate activities with thirdparty vendors, consultants, and implementation partners; track commitments, dependencies, deliverables, and performance.
• Support project implementation, transition, closeout, and lessonslearned activities and identify opportunities to improve project delivery practices.
• Support the Director of Strategic Initiatives with organizational priorities, special projects, and crossfunctional initiatives as assigned.

Who You Are & What You’ll Bring

• 35 years of progressively responsible project management experience, including demonstrated experience independently managing complex, crossfunctional IT or technologyenabled projects.
• Demonstrated project management experience within healthcare IT, healthcare technology, a health system, or a similarly complex healthcare environment.
• Experience coordinating projects involving multiple technical, clinical, operational, business, and/or vendor stakeholder groups.
• Experience with project planning, requirements gathering, process and workflow documentation, risk and issue management, change control, stakeholder management, and status reporting.
• Strong working knowledge of project management methodologies and governance practices, including Waterfall, Agile, and/or hybrid approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, priorities, and workstreams while maintaining organization, followthrough, and accountability.
• Strong analytical, problemsolving, facilitation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, bring structure to ambiguity, exercise sound judgment, and recognize when issues require escalation or leadership involvement.
• Ability to lead through influence and collaborate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
• Experience with Epic, Workday, Jira, and/or Confluence is preferred.
• Experience managing healthcare technology implementations, enterprise applications, integrations, upgrades, migrations, process improvement initiatives, or thirdparty implementation partners is preferred.
• Familiarity with healthcare privacy, security, regulatory, and compliance requirements, including HIPAA, is preferred.

Education/Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration, healthcare administration, project management, or a related field; or four (4) years of directly relevant professional experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
• The experience used to substitute for the degree is in addition to the 35 years of progressively responsible project management experience required for the Project Manager II position.
• Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required. Candidates who do not hold an active PMP certification do not meet the minimum qualifications for this position.
• Additional project management or business analysis certifications, such as PMIACP, PMIPBA, CBAP, and/or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) are preferred but do not replace the PMP requirement.

Travel Requirements:

• Up to 10% travel may be required based on project and business needs, including occasional travel to client, partner, or Xtensys locations.

Physical Readiness:

• Primarily sedentary, officebased work involving extended periods of computer use and virtual or inperson meetings, with occasional standing, walking, and lifting of up to 25 lbs. Ability to perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
