Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company is recruiting a Project Manager (Solar + BESS) for a nationwide EPC-based, renewable energy portfolio. This site-based role requires 100% travel and oversight from planning through commissioning.

You will lead project teams, ensure safety and quality, manage budgets and schedules, and coordinate procurement, construction, and closeout activities across TN, GA, MS, TX and other sites.

Qualifications

• Must have prior experience on renewable energy or T&D projects.
• Projects are site-based with a nationwide scope.
• Experience with EPC project execution is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams to achieve safety, quality, and schedule goals.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, work plans, safety and quality plans.
• Drive performance to meet budgets and schedules.
• Oversee estimating, scheduling, constructability reviews, value engineering, procurement and field execution.
• Develop recovery plans for schedule or cost impacts.
• Promote a strong safety culture and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain stakeholder relations with owners, engineers, subcontractors and authorities.
• Prepare and review change orders, labor reports, and cost forecasts.
• Lead closeout activities and coach PM staff.

Project Manager (Solar + BESS)

100% travel required. Projects are nationally based.

A nationwide Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company specializing in utility-scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects.

Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall execution and performance of assigned projects, ensuring successful delivery with a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance. This role provides leadership and direction to project teams throughout the entire project lifecycle, from planning and procurement through construction, commissioning, and closeout.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and direct project teams to achieve project goals while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.


• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, project work plans, safety plans, quality plans, and company policies and initiatives.


• Drive project performance to meet or exceed budgets, schedules, and organizational objectives.


• Oversee project estimating, scheduling, constructability reviews, value engineering, procurement activities, and field execution.


• Develop and implement project recovery plans when necessary to address schedule or cost impacts.

Safety & Quality Management

• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.


• Monitor project operations to protect the well-being of employees, subcontractors, and stakeholders.


• Ensure all project activities are executed with safety and quality as primary priorities.

Stakeholder & Client Relations

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with owners, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and local communities.


• Serve as the primary liaison with authorities having jurisdiction and regulatory bodies.


• Maintain accountability for project schedules, including procurement lead times, resource planning, cost controls, schedule impact analysis, and schedule optimization strategies.


• Prepare, negotiate, and manage change orders, including assessment of schedule and cost impacts and preparation of associated claims.


• Review and oversee weekly labor reports and monthly project performance reports.


• Compile and review owner/client pay applications and cost-to-complete forecasts.


• Execute major purchase orders and subcontract agreements.

Team Development & Project Closeout

• Review and approve daily timekeeping records for project personnel.


• Lead project closeout activities and ensure all contractual closeout requirements are successfully completed.


• Foster a culture of continuous improvement across project teams.


• Coach, mentor, and support the professional development of project management staff.
