Job summary

Kleinfelder in Dallas, TX is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager to lead complex geotechnical projects from planning through execution. You will coordinate client needs, manage budgets, schedules, and safety, and supervise field exploration and lab testing.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, 9+ years of experience, strong communication, and the ability to mentor junior staff in a cross-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) and multi-state licensure readiness.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Step into Your New Role

Kleinfelder is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager. The position will be based in Kleinfelder's Central Division Dallas location.

The ideal candidate will:

• Coordinate and communicate with internal or external clients to understand their needs
• Manage a portfolio of projects meeting client and company requirements for safety, budget, quality and schedule
• Safely supervise field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis and technical support.
• Mentor and manage junior staff and project level geotechnical professionals through project performance
• Perform and develop scopes for field and office tasks (technical and non-technical) and independent analysis.
• Coordinate tasks and manage medium to large size multi-disciplined projects with guidance and interaction by senior operations/technical staff.
• Prepare or review designs, reports and calculations on complex projects.

Strong analytical skills are required in areas including:

• soil and rock classification,
• slope stability analysis,
• earth retention systems,
• shallow and deep foundation design,
• construction support
• soil improvement techniques
• materials testing knowledge

Education & Experience:

• Minimum 9 years of related experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) License and ability to be licensed in multiple states
• Must have a positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks
• Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Position will require the candidate to adhere to work assignments/schedules, be self-motivated, organized and have a keen sense of detail.

Candidate must be willing to work in addition to a standard 40-hour work week when needed.
