Job summary

Texas Materials, a CRH company, is seeking a skilled Construction Project Manager to lead on-site activities, coordinate contractors, and manage contract finances. You will ensure schedules and budgets are met while upholding safety and quality on project sites.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in construction management, a construction management degree or equivalent, and strong communication and Excel/Word skills. This role requires regular attendance and field presence.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in construction management.
• Construction Management Degree or equivalent required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and maintain liaison between Owner, Prime Contractor, or Subcontractor to facilitate construction activities.
• Monitor/control construction with the on-site Superintendent to keep project on schedule and within budget.
• Monitor safety of employees on the project.
• Coordinate materials, trucking, and subcontractor work.
• Represent the company in project meetings and assist in planning meetings.
• Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company interests while maintaining client relationships.
• Take on additional responsibilities as directed by the Senior Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

• Initiate and maintain liaison between Owner, Prime Contractor, or Subcontractor, to facilitate construction activities.
• Monitor/control construction with the on-site Superintendent to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
• Monitor the overall safety of employees on the project
• Coordinate materials, trucking, and subcontractor work
• Represent the company in project meetings; assist in planning meetings, etc.
• Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationships with the client.
• Assume additional responsibilities as directed by the Senior Project Manager.

Education/Experience

• Construction Management Degree or equivalent

Work Requirements

• Regular work attendance is a requirement for this position
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction management required

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

• A thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities is vital.
• Superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills are essential
• Business Acumen; Decision Quality; Managing and Measuring Work; Drive for Results
• P6 scheduling experience preferred
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Knowledge of Bid 2 Win and/or Heavy Bid preferred
• TXDOT traffic control/safety standards knowledge preferred
