Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing renewable energy team in George. You will design electrical systems for solar and wind projects, including layout, interconnection, and protection.

Work closely with civil, mechanical, and project management teams to deliver compliant, efficient solutions. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in electrical design within renewables, proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and PVSyst, and strong knowledge of grid integration and energy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in electrical design, preferably renewables.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD Electrical and PVSyst.
• Strong understanding of power electronics, grid integration, and energy storage.
• Knowledge of low and medium voltage electrical systems.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical designs for solar PV systems, including array layout, inverter selection, and grid interconnection.
• Perform electrical load calculations, component sizing, and protection system design.
• Create electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical or similar software.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical due diligence for new renewable energy projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including civil, mechanical, and project management departments.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
